Dance is a form of expression and healing; it is both empowering and transformative. Behind the grace and elegance of a dancer is the muscle and resilience of an athlete. The Body Lab Method combines the artistry of dance and the athleticism of fitness to deliver a training method and workout program like no other.

 

Movement is a universal language and this program is suited for every BODY – no previous dance or fitness experience necessary. 

 

With a focus on coordination, posture, cardiovascular endurance, strength, mobility, and balance – The Body Lab Method enhances every aspect of physical and mental strength. Through carefully designed programming, your weekly schedule targets specific goals and provides a complete and all-encompassing workout.

 

Each class is a curated experience to achieve optimal results in lengthening, strengthening, and sculpting the body, finding strength in ranges of mobility through movement. Together, we move with mind to muscle connection, and from intention to action. This method simultaneously strengthens the mind and body, inspiring you to be your best version of yourself and sparking your inner creative artist!

OUR METHOD

A transformative training method for every BODY. Our goal as instructors is to help you achieve optimal strength, by focusing on technique, posture and alignment through every movement practice, to help you yield the most effective results. Our method of training combines the principles of classical ballet, pilates, yoga and pre-habilitative techniques to sculpt a strong, lean and healthy physique.

 

Designed by professional dancers and experts of technique, The Body Lab method will elevate your mind and body to become your strongest, most confident self. With low impact and highly effective functional training- this program has a mindful and artistic approach to your daily movement practice.

OUR CLASSES

BALLET & BARRE SCULPT

In our classical ballet classes, you learn the fundamentals of classical ballet technique, in an open level, challenging and satisfying ballet class. This class will help improve coordination, balance, endurance, and posture! You will no doubt see a difference in how you walk in your everyday life! 

Our Barre Classes combine principles of Ballet, Pilates, and Functional Strength Training, to target muscle groups throughout the entire body. Specifically designed to lengthen and strengthen the body, while improving coordination, balance, stabilization, and posture, this class will leave you feeling strong, connected & centred. 

YOGA, MOBILITY FLOW & STRETCH

In these Yoga, Stretch, and Mobility Flow classes, we will release any blocks in the body, increase mobility, and allow for more freedom in movement - whether it be in every day activities or in fitness classes. This is also a great way to create more mind-body connection, move with intention, and create more balance. These classes are important to add to a well-rounded training schedule, to attain your goals and continue building strength, mobility, and long lean lines.

In this upper body blast, we will work the major and minor muscle groups of the arms, back and abdominals, which are key muscle groups for core stability. These exercises will also tone and sculpt to define your upper body. Done at a controlled pace, this class will give you balanced strength without over developing muscle mass. You can expect a lot of repetition with minimal rest, and the option to include bands or small weights for an extra challenge! 

UPPER BODY & CORE

Our Pilates classes consist of low-impact exercises that sculpt long lean lines through flexibility and muscular strength & endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and overall muscle balance!

PILATES

CARDIO & HIIT

Cardiovascular and Muscular Endurance are the main event in this high energy and intense workout! This class was designed to develop your body’s power, resilience and athleticism. Increasing cardiorespiratory endurance improves oxygen uptake in the lungs and heart allowing you to perform longer and more efficiently while also strengthening two of the body’s most vital organs. An excellent way to burn calories fast and get in a guaranteed quick sweat, any time you can fit it in!

 

GUIDED MEDITATION

These classes include focused breath work and guided mindful meditations. These classes will leave you in a state of relaxed concentration, and will help you achieve mental, emotional and physical healing and stress relief.  

The ultimate booty blast! This class will test your muscular endurance through detailed mat work and dynamic standing exercises. Done at a controlled pace, this class will have a focus on eccentric and concentric movement, which are both key components to strength and flexibility. Some classes may include the option to add weights or bands for an added challenge! Burn baby, burn!

LOWER BODY & CORE

TUTORIALS

Short and focused classes that target and hone in on specific skills. In these tutorials, we take you through a step by step guide to understanding and developing the confidence and technique to achieve these goals. Tutorials include: Accessing your Turnout, Jumps and Elevations, Balance, An Introduction to Classical Ballet Sequences, and more! 

WEIGHTS,BANDS & SLIDERS

With the help of weights or a resistance band, we're able to add a level of resistance and tension to our workouts, turning up the heat on your favourite exercises! 

 

With the help of a Slider, or substitute with a small hand towel, we’re able to intensify upper & lower body workouts using just your own body weight!
